Excitement building around upcoming Hope for the Mountains crusade

Posted

Editor’s note: Kentucky Baptists are planning a major evangelistic crusade on Nov. 11 in conjunction with the KBC’s annual meeting in Pikeville. What follows is an invitation from a Kentucky Baptist pastor who, as you will readily observe, is excited about the upcoming event and who wants everyone to get involved.

My dear Brother, and Sister church,

Greetings from Fitzpatrick Baptist Church. I hope this letter finds you well.

I am writing to you about the upcoming Hope for the Mountains Crusade taking place at The Expo in downtown Pikeville on Sunday night Nov. 11, 6:30-8:00 p.m. It is going to be a wonderful time when Kentucky Baptists come together from all over the state to worship the LORD together. And we have been asked to help lead the way! Georgia Evangelist Jon Reed will be preaching the Gospel, the Jason Lovins Band will be providing incredible music, and our KBC’s Jason “Bubba” Stewart will be leading a 300 voice choir as we honor our nation and military/veterans. It’s gonna be AWESOME!!! I do hope you and your church are planning on being there with us.

With that being said, the first thing I want to share is that the Master has need of you. He needs His people in the mountains to commit to serve our neighbors, and our Baptist brothers and sisters coming from all over the state. Our precious KBC team has need of us mountain folk to serve as Greeters/Ushers, fill a 300 voice choir, and meet the need of 200 Counselors for the invitation. I am personally asking you Pastor, and my sister church, to heed the Masters call and come together with us to help the Gospel go forth in the mountains like never before. I know the LORD will be faithful, and I believe that if we are faithful, we will witness a wonderful revival of our churches and a great many people accepting Christ as their Savior.

Secondly, I also want to invite you to a special time to meet the Evangelist, Jon Reed, and listen as he lays out a process for us to see this crusade be effective. This time is very similar to what Billy Graham did for years before his crusades, and very important. Please bring your entire congregation to the training for our Enterprise Association. It will be on Monday, September 24 at 6:30 PM at Fitzpatrick Baptist Church in Prestonsburg, KY. We are expecting a great crowd, so please fill up your church vans and vehicles and come, so as parking will be sufficient.

Thirdly, please be praying for this incredible opportunity that God is setting before us. Pray daily individually, and collectively weekly as churches. And if you are able, please join us on Wednesday, September 26 at 9:00 AM in Pikeville to prayer walk the inside and outside of the Expo facility. Pray that churches will be faithful to attend and serve. Pray for our KBC leaders as they plan, prepare and organize this holy event. Pray that people will be inviting people to come here Good News. Pray for the music to prepare the heart of every person that hears. Pray for the evangelist to be anointed and speak the very words for this appointed time. Pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit like we have never seen in our lifetime, that we will see a brokenness among God’s people, and a harvest of lost souls that will be unimaginable. And pray that God will be glorified like never before.

Fourthly, please advertise this event. Make flyers for your people to distribute, call the KBC for event flyers and yard signs.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, or the KBC at 800-266-6477 or online at www.kybaptist.org/hope .

Please know that I love you and your congregation. Each of you are in my prayers, and my wife’s prayers every week. I am thankful for you, and proud of you. I look forward to seeing you on September 24! Blessings to you all.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Tommy Reed
Fitzpatrick Baptist Church
