Kentuckians all too familiar with Wynonna Judd’s heartache

Posted

It’s heartbreaking to see yet another promising young life derailed by drugs.

In Kentucky, Wynonna Judd is a favorite daughter, so the news that her own child, Grace Pauline Kelley, is on her way to prison really packs a wallop.

Kelley, 22, has been sentenced to eight years behind bars on drug-related charges.

This much is certain, Kentuckians will be rooting for her. We’re all too familiar with the heartache Wynonna is dealing with right now. There’s hardly a family in our state that hasn’t been touched by the scourge of drugs. Sadly, all too many of them have lost loved ones to fatal overdoses. In comparison, going to prison for a while really doesn’t seem so bad.

It’s our hope that this prison term will enable a young lady with tremendous potential to break free from the grip of drugs and fulfill her God-given purpose. The thing about derailments is this: Lives can get back on track.

That’s our hope for Wynonna’s little girl.
