Kentucky Today editor becomes International Mission Board VP

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (KT) -- The founding editor of Kentucky Today is leaving the online newspaper to become the vice president for communications of the Southern Baptist Convention’s International Mission Board.

Roger Alford will transition from his role at Kentucky Today and as the communications director for the Kentucky Baptist Convention in mid-February.

Alford has held the positions for the past five years. Prior to coming to the KBC, Alford worked in the news industry for more than 30 years.

Brandon Porter has been named the Interim Communications Director to succeed Alford. Porter has pastored Southern Baptist churches in Kentucky and Alabama for the past 25 years. In addition to local church ministry, he has worked for several years in radio and television serving as a reporter and anchor.
