Louisville to be focus of massive evangelistic effort in November

Initiative being planned in conjunction with KBC's annual meeting

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (KT) – Plans are underway for an evangelistic outreach that will be held in conjunction with this year’s Kentucky Baptist Convention annual meeting in Louisville.

Crossover Louisville will involve a massive door-to-door campaign with members of KBC churches across the state coming into Louisville days in advance of the Nov. 14 meeting to share the gospel.

“We know how effective this kind of initiative can be,” said Todd Gray, KBC’s team leader for evangelism. “These face-to-face conversations are a great way of sharing the good news of Jesus with people far from God.”

The door-to-door campaign has been set for Highview Baptist Church: Valley Station Campus, where volunteers will gather on Nov. 11 for a full day of door knocking. Other events are expected to be added as the date for the annual meeting nears.

When the Southern Baptist Convention’s annual meeting was held in Louisville in 2009, some 3,000 volunteers were involved in a Crossover event that resulted in 1,012 professions of faith at two outdoor festivals and twenty-eight block parties that topped a list of nearly 100 events, one of which was door-to-door canvassing.

This year’s Crossover event is a partnership between Louisville Regional Baptist Association, Highview’s Valley Station Campus and the evangelism team of the Kentucky Baptist Convention.
