BENTON, Ky. (KT) - Kentucky State Police have released the names of the two students who were killed in a mass shooting at Marshall County High School in rural western Kentucky on Tuesday.
In a news conference Tuesday evening, KSP reported that Bailey Nicole Holt and Preston Ryan Cope, both 15, are the two students who died after they were shot at Marshall County High School Tuesday morning by a 15-year-old male classmate.
Holt died at the scene of the shooting and Cope was pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
The shooter’s identity or motive were not released by authorities at the press conference. They do believe the shooting was the work of only the one shooter.
All of Marshall County schools will be closed on Wednesday as the investigation continues.
