LOUISVILLE, Ky. (KT) – Little River Baptist Association Director of Missions Paxton Redd was elected second vice president of the Kentucky Baptist Convention.

Redd won the office by acclamation at Tuesday’s annual meeting of Kentucky Baptists held at Highview Baptist Church’s east campus in Louisville, Ky.

Nominating pastor Kyle Noffsinger, of Cadiz Baptist Church, said Redd is one of the youngest men serving as an associational leader and that “at only age 30, he has already distinguished himself as a man of character and wisdom.”

"If you want to take the gospel across the street or around the world, you have a friend in Paxton Redd," Noffsinger said.

Redd said he only wants to serve Kentucky Baptists in return for all they have done for him.

Redd previously served six years as pastor of Oak Grove Baptist Church, which is one of Kentucky’s top churches in terms of missions participation. He also serves on the KBC Committee on Credentials through November 2019.
