Clear Creek students treated to turkeys and fixings for Thanksgiving

PINEVILLE, Ky. (KT) – Students at Clear Creek Baptist Bible College will enjoy a Thanksgiving feast on Thursday thanks to churches in nearby communities.

Trucks from the Laurel River and Irvine associations rolled onto the southeastern Kentucky campus on Tuesday loaded with traditional Thanksgiving victuals, including frozen turkeys for an annual “Turkey Day” event.

When they were unloaded, every student, as well as every member of the faculty and staff, were fixed for the holiday.

“Turkey Day is one of my absolute favorite days of the year at Clear Creek,” said Megan Patterson, a sophomore. “To have these kind people come to our tiny little slice of heaven (campus) and bless us with food and fellowship every year is just great. As a student, finances are tight and during the holidays, every blessing we receive is much appreciated. Turkey Day is much more than a free turkey; it's being able to receive love from others in the ministry of Jesus Christ.”

More turkeys and treats will be delivered to campus just before Christmas.
